Jonah Raydio (general)

Hey guys-

This week we go back in time, back to a strange time known as the summer of 2018. Beach Goth is a festival thrown in the LA area for years by the band The Growlers and through Cash’s job with a beer company, the Jonah Radio boys got in for free. So Neil went out and bought us hats with the ticket money. Great hats.

We wander, we talk, we argue. It was pretty great.

We feature some GWAR stage banter, the song Break Down the Walls from Youth of Today, and Octves song Exact Change

Thats what we have this week as we continue out Jonah Ray-less Jonah Raydio run. Jonah still on tour, so we decided to mix it up a bit this week. If we can provide the headliner for the show, how about an extra sidekick? Fellow Emmy nominated editor/podcast host/great guy Chris McCaleb joins us on the couches this week. And Chris brought his own drops!

We talk Chris’ co-worker Mike Bearmantraut, how Chris started in the tv business, and we take half guesses at the isolated drum tracks that Neil found. Jonah sends in a piano jam from the road.

First podcast with Jonah on the road! We were full of piss and vinegar and then Neil took an nap and slept through the beginning of the show. But no matter as we had a great guest in the form of writer/producer Ben Acker. Ben wrote and produced the long running Thrilling Adventure Hour, several comics from your favorite major and minor presses and his newly launched webcomic Kid Midnight.

Ben brings some examples of his songwriting with his buddy Kate Micucci, some covers done by close friends of his and some originals from people we know well enough not to have them sue us.

We talk Ben and his time at a naming company, Skiffle music, Neils trip to interview David Byrne and more. All on this weeks Jonah-less Raydio.
